The Public Works Engineering Division has the responsibility of analyzing, (re)designing and administering public works (property) construction and expansion projects.

These projects include all improvements to streets, curbs, gutters, sewer systems, storm drains, sidewalks, and publicly owned fixtures. In most cases, the development of these projects, which are sometimes referred to as Capital Improvement Projects, are contracted to private companies for design and construction as approved by the Engineering Division. Permits must be obtained for these or any other uses on public property.
